BOXBOT The Demo
A downloadable game for Windows
Welcome to the first game planned for a future release. This is a very short demo showcasing the platformer side of what my final game would be like. This is being shown to gather ideas and tweaks that can be made by popular vote.
The story of the final game is as follows:
This is Boxbot, Boxbot is a small robot made by a professor of High acclaim. The professor had been falsely accused of creating a mass robot army to take over a city so it is your job to find who is responsible and to turn him over.
You will face many obstacles in your path; from there being police that you must avoid for you not wanting to harm a human being and robots of which you will gladly takedown. The final game faces you with the abilities that are shown in the images.
This demo is a short game, and that is why you have a time trial to beat it as fast as possible, the final game may use the time-based aspect as a method of gaining points similar to how classic platformers work.
Please if you can, send me some comments about this game idea as it has been a passion project in the making for over two years and now that I have almost completed my college diploma in games development, I can continue working on these games full time with your support.

The artstyle is very good and the concept shown in the demo is also good. The Ideas for abilities and weapons look fun and the ideas for levels look interesting too. The jump mechanics took some getting used to but I liked the stealth mechanics
I enjoyed the long and depth filled story of this small machine's mission of trying to save his creator, the character development is superb and I truly felt as if I was a little midget box robot trying not to get caught by the authorities for creating the robotic apocalypse 3/10, the jump feels unintuitive and the level timer doesn't reset with subsequent runs, meaning that all your times add up each time instead of resetting
I jumped in without reading the story above (My bad) but all i could think is why am i doing this... why am i robot... i know this is only a demo but i hope there is some introduction to the game as to why you are doing what you are.
Getting onto the game its self. The concept is good. The jump mechanics had some getting used to and it had an element of difficulty to it meaning it took me a few attempts to complete it.
Is this seemed to be a tutorial level putting somewhere about being able to hide in bookcases or behind monitors as I had to just figure that out. The same with the objective or where i was going. There was no indication of what the goal was or where to go so some sort of prompt would have been useful.
I love boxbot i think he's a cute little bot and of the rest of the ideas come to life id love to see how the game progressed and maybe even a double jump could be a simple but good addition to a game like this.
7/10 from me!
